I'm fascinated by poker and love movies like Ocean's 11 so I was eager to read this book. It's a fun romp through Manhattan high society with a feminist twist as Maud Warner - only in her fifties but definitely an invisible old woman in that high society - uses her poker skills to devise a plan for revenge against the men she thinks stole her family's fortune and are responsible for destroying the members of her family. It's a lot like reading a novelization of Vogue magazine with a revenge plot starring an older woman at the center. If you enjoy reading magazines like Vogue and Vanity Fair, you'll probably enjoy this novel. This was a page-turner and a quick read, perfect for a summer beach read.
