I'm slowly but surely going through the old excerpts to try to rack up more points to get more freebie books. Life got in the way for a few months, but now I'm back at it. I'm trying to mostly go in alphabetical order by file names, but things sometimes get jumbled, so bear with me.
This excerpt started out with absolutely stunning imagery. It didn't have a particularly strong hook, but in spite of that, the hook was still intriguing enough to keep me reading. Maud was particularly likeable, which made it easy to keep going, to see what would happen next. The delayed hook, coming in on page five of the excerpt took the book (excerpt) to a whole different level - from that point on I was completely invested. This is absolutely and without a doubt one that I will be purchasing in order to find out what happens next. So many of the books promoted through this site are very hit or miss for me, but none has drawn me in so thoroughly.
