The first look of "Bluff" reminded me a whole lot of the movie Cruel Intentions - but with past their prime rich white people instead of teens. This is not a bad thing. It feels like a treat to eavesdrop on people who are rich and famous for being rich - like watching an old soap like Dynasty. All you really know of Maude from the first look is that she's lost her money and status and she killed a guy, maybe the wrong guy, and that she's so far gotten away. I for one am rooting for her to keep getting away, even though I'm not 100% clear on her reasoning. However you feel sympathy for Maude after all her former friends and associates are calling her crazy and Maude herself complains that no one notices "old women". Ahhhh the patriarchy - ain't it grand? I definitely want to see what happens to Maude and her victim Sun and all her friends.
