I don't think I have the words to express my feelings. Just - wow! The witchlands, characters, plot, dialogue... I'm not sure why I'm so surprised. It might be slotted as YA, but I think anyone would enjoy it.
The first of the series took me a little bit of time to adjust to the world building and to figure out what is going on. Going into book two was a great transition. I most enjoyed the setup for going into Bloodwitch.
By the time I started this book, I was already highly invested in the background and future of this book's focus: the bloodwitch, Aeduan. He initially comes off as the "bad guy" and who doesn't love when they turn out to be a hero?
I love that Susan continually weaves in more POVS, that the characters you want more of still remain crucial to the following books. This is a fantastic book three - I loved it - and can't wait for book four to release.
