I love this series
This is by far the best book in the series so far. I love Aeduan, he's definitely my favorite character and this book solidified my love for him. He's complex and I enjoyed learning more about his past and having him discover himself. He grew up thinking he was a monster and therefore couldn't act on what made him a man. He was always a tool for others to use so they could get what they want. No one ever thought of Aeduan and treated him like a person until Iseult came along. Their romance is beautiful and the slow burn is perfect for them. They are both outcasts in their own way and connect because of that. I absolutely love them together and can't wait to see them again.
I really liked everyones stories, unlike in Windwitch. Each person had a story line that had significance. They all played a role in the ending of this book. I felt really bad for Merik. He tries to do good and ends up tortured and ends up sacrificing himself for the good of the world. I also feel bad for Safi in that even though she's a Truthwitch, she doesn't know what to believe. She's fighting the family she's known and the family she made through this war.
I'm really excited for the next book and can't wait to continue on with everyones stories!
