Starting out, I struggled to recall the events of the last two books and all of the characters, since this book jumps right back in. Once I remembered more then I started to enjoy it more. I really enjoyed all of the different perspectives in this book, since we got to read from the point of view of so many beloved characters in this series. This book also saw the return of many other characters and had a few reuniting scenes. I will say that occasionally I got bored with a certain character’s perspective and just wanted to get back to Safi and Iseult, but I can see how they were all important to grasp the full picture of what was happening. Since the perspective switches so often it disrupts the sequence of action, so I thought that this book was slow for the first half but it did pick up in the end when their stories started to come together. I like how Aeduan has grown as a character and he definitely continues to do so through the story. So much is learned about these characters and his world in this book. I will comment that I definitely recommend reading Sightwitch before this one, since I think it allows you to have a more complete understanding of the location and what is happening in many of the scenes at the end.
