Epic High Fantasy

Susan Dennard's Witchlands series is amazing and Bloodwitch is no exception. My favorite thing about this series is that there is no obvious good guy/bad guy in this series - everyone's viewpoint is given, so you can see how one character is another's antagonist but by the next chapter you see how the POV you were just reading is impacting a different character...just like the real world. Everyone is someone's villain; everyone is someone's hero. The magic system is intricate and the surprises are frequent. Every time I have a guess about where a storyline is going, I am usually wrong. The cast of characters is large, but they're all well rounded and fully realized characters. Even with all the threads in this book (pun unintended) it's easy to follow. I cannot wait for the next book in the series.
