Once again, I thank my lucky stars that I gave this series a second chance. Susan Dennard has hit it out of park once more with Bloodwitch. This book had everything I was hoping it would: bad-ass women, magic of epic proportions, more Witchlands lore, excellent villains, reunions, and the realization slash growth of one of my absolute favourite character pairs.

A long list of expectations, I know, but each one was satisfied. I don't remember really liking Truthwitch, and it almost makes me feel like Dennard is trying to make it up to me. Everything that has followed has been stellar! This story is getting huge, and I mean that in the best way. So many times a chapter would end with me silently screaming. I have so many questions! But don't get wrong, they get answered in time. It all unfolds incredibly well and nicely paced.

Allow me to introduce to the cast of characters we get to follow along with.
⭐️ Safiya and Vaness⭐️ Safi is in Marstok with its Empress, Vaness. She is now a prisoner of sorts of the Empress, using her Truthwitch power to discover if anyone is plotting against Vaness. As one would expect, not as easy as that.
💫 Merrik💫 Yeah, he's not having much fun. Almost from the get-go, Merrik is captured and becomes prisoner of Esme, the Puppeteer. Not my favourite POV, but definitely very enlightening.
⭐️ Vivia⭐️ Queen-in-Waiting to Nubrevna, I think she had the toughest journey of all. Namely in being undermined at every turn because she was a fierce woman whose mother went "mad."

💫 Aeduan and Iseult 💫 Separate they must be from everyone else because they were the whole book for me. I could not rest until I got to their next chapters. I am so in love with their relationship, and I am so glad with how it unfolded. I will forever be in Sooz's debt for making it such a delight to read. With every inch of my heart, I can't wait for the next book to see how it progresses even further. Little Owl tags along with them—who is utterly adorable on her own—and she brings out the best, and worst, in Aeduan and Iseult. And as this is Aeduan's book, we get little tastes of his past ... and they broke my heart.

I want to take a moment to discuss the novella Sightwitch. It was published a year before Bloodwitch, and I'd seen around that while you don't have to read it, absolutely do. There are no big plot reveals, but my jaw dropped as connections were made in this book. Aeduan's parents, doorways, the Paladins, the Rook King. All in all, so much interesting stuff that meant that much more in here.

Another 5 star entry into this great big ol' fantasy series that I can't wait to see more of. Threadwitch, where you at? Or will it be Weaverwitch?!
