I didn't know that I could be destroyed emotionally by 52 pages but boy oh boy, was I wrong.
This selection reintroduced favorite POV characters from the previous books and expanded on their stories and built tension right away. Seeing Safi come to terms with her new position as a free bird in a cage, Iseult and Aeduan slowly grow to trust each other, Merik do some much needed growing, and Vivia play politics amidst a resumed war... I love these characters. And I love the shenanigans they get up to.
And how about that PLOT? The conflict of the Witchlands books has always been global, but the political intrigue and magical conflicts are just growing and growing and I can't wait to see how Dennard ties up all the strings (or should I say Threads?) in the end.
Basically, I can't wait for the release of this book, so I can reread books 1-2.5 before my preorder comes in so I can dive right back into this amazing world.
