While this took me longer to read than I had hoped, it had nothing to do with the book or story itself. This was a unique look at magic, religion, and even delving into mental illness and the stigma that surrounds it.
I enjoyed the setting of this book and the unique way that magic is used to follow a murderer. Some of the characters backstories were heartbreaking, while still showing strength of character.
While I didn't love every aspect if each character, it kept me interested and guessing, back and forth, throughout the entire book.
This story, and the world the author created makes me wntllant to find more from her and read them all. I enjoyed how she addressed fear of differences, stigma if mental illness, religious variations, without being totally in your face about it. In my opinion.
