This book took me SO LONG to read. Two months to be exact and I read numerous books while trying to get through this one. There was so much promise, but I found that it all fell flat for me.
The plot wasn’t particularly compelling and I kept putting this book down in favor of others. The book didn’t really pick up until after 200 pages in and even then it was a bit fleeting. If I had just picked this book up and not won it I might have possibly DNF’d it.
I thought the killer was relatively obvious and the red herrings that were placed in Cat’s path were a bit lazy.
I did absolutely love the religious structure in this world and found the Selenae fascinating. I wish Cat had discovered her family earlier in the book and was able to learn more about her powers.
I would have also greatly enjoyed another POV as Cat could be annoying at times. I understand that she’s a teenager, but give the girl some substance!!
