I thought Blood and Moonlight by Erin Beaty was a pretty good book, but I can’t say that it’s a favorite of mine. This one took me a little bit to get into since it had a slower pace, but it was still an enjoyable read. I loved how this book was not only a young adult fantasy, but a mystery/thriller as well. I struggled a bit with the historical fiction aspect, because I couldn’t quite picture what time period it took place in. Overall, this book was intriguing and enjoyable even though it was a fairly slow paced read. I loved the combination of the murder mystery and the fantasy elements like Cat’s supernatural moon power. This was definitely a book worth reading and I think I’ll be on the lookout for other books by this author from now on. This book combined many things I love in a book, my only main complaint was that the pacing was a bit slow for my taste.
