This book was freaking amazing! It was my first time reading a book by Erin Beaty and I was not disappointed. The book promised fantasy, mystery, and thriller (my absolute favorite genres), and it definitely delivered.
First, the cover. The cover was absolutely gorgeous. Definitely the art style that I like, love, and drool over. Same goes for the title.
Onto the contents, I really enjoyed the complexity of the characters. Catrin I could readily imagine, and I love the uniqueness of her name. It was definitely a book that I held my breath as I read (so made me breathless in more than one way). It kind of gave me Stalking Jack the Ripper vibes? Perhaps because of the mystery and thriller aspects.
All in all, a great book to read, especially if you love mystery. The beautiful fantasy was just a bonus.
