I seem to be in the minority in my opinion of this first look. I'm intrigued by the concept of a murder mystery fantasy, for sure, but I found the snippet provided to be a little unexciting.
There's murder, sure, but I've found myself oddly uninvested. I haven't found myself drawn to any of the characters and with the very loosely defined magic currently presented, I just find it to be almost messy.
There's enough here for me to be curious to know what everyone's opinion is of the whole thing, but I personally won't be seeking it out. It has potential but it doesn't give me that itch I have to scratch.
