I liked the world that was being built up in this book. It's clearly based on French culture, but I kind of get a sense that the church being built is similar to La Sagrada Familia, being so large and grand and having been in construction for so long. I love a good murder mystery, but this book seems to be blending multiple genres, it feels like murder mystery, historical fiction, and a bit of fantasy thrown in. Definitely an interesting start to the story, I'm curious what happens next.
