As stated before in my first look, I have never read anything by this author. Blade of Secrets was my first look ever into this author's work - and I am in love with the perfect, simple fantasy adventure that they provide in their work.
I won't provide any spoilers, only review of the crafting of the story, the writing, the pace, etc. The author is obviously a well-practice, talented writer as the story is constantly driving forward without lag. With what this book lacks in flowery words, it makes up for in plot drive. From the very first chapter, you are thrust into the story. Ziva is an interesting enough narrator, and very fun to follow around the story even if she is very simple for a main character. A predictable fairytale, but one that won't let you down and is great to cozy up to for a quick summer read. In sum, I would say I give this 4.5 Stars!
