I love the main character Ziva! There is not enough representation for social anxiety. It is such a real thing and affects so many people, but can be easy enough to hide. Ziva battles this through the whole book. She chooses to spend her life hidden away in her shop with her forge and her metals making magical weapons to help bring about peace while avoiding people in general. Her sister deals with all the people and she makes the magic, literally. When she makes a weapon that will be unstoppable in the wrong hands, which it definitely will if she gives it to the person who commissions it, she and her sister flee the city hoping they can find a way to destroy the weapon to keep its abilities hidden. They acquire two travel mates along the way, who end up becoming their found family.

I flew through this book, it's that good. The four main characters are all fantastic. They are all different, with different motivations and needs, but they work so well together when they need to. There is just enough disagreements, and squabbling to keep their adventure interesting, and definitely enough tricky situations that they find themselves in. The storyline itself is so fun, and then at the end the teaser for a prequel to The Sword in the Stone. Then it ends on a cliffhanger, and now I'm dreading the wait until the next one comes out. Definitely a must read if you love YA fantasy adventure!
