I will first off say I love fantasy, I love magic and its lore, so this book's premise has already got me interested. It seems pretty basic so far, as it hasn't even reached the main plot line yet in the First Look excerpt. I do love that the main character is a magical blacksmith, I love that vibe.
My one qualm with it so far is that the main character, Ziva, has social anxiety (which I, too, have it pretty severe), and I relate to every one of her thoughts. However, it is literally every single paragraph. I get that certain experiences can trigger episodes where all you have are anxious thoughts, but it was just too much for me. People with anxiety don't think about it 24/7, and reading something so close to my own anxious thoughts put me off (since I read to find comfort from said thoughts). Maybe later on in the story it will be less prevalent. If so, I look forward to reading it in its entirety.
