An MC who prefers the safety of her forge and work to interacting with people (even her customers) is relatable and does draw someone like myself (who also shares the social anxiety and fears she has) into the story. Unfortunately, there isn't much to draw me in. Sure, some random guy pops up showing interest in her work for his research, but it ends there and it doesn't seem interesting enough for me to continue reading. (This book is in first-person POV.)

The blacksmithing is intriguing (rarely see this in YA) and will continue reading for that aspect (as well as worldbuilding), but I feel that might be overtaken by some romantic plot like most YA these days. I only question the magic system in this book--how does it work? Is the MC the only one able to "imbue" magic into her craft? Is there a cost to this magic? To provide such an overpowering ability to weapons without checks and regulations? Hopefully, these questions are clarified later in the story.

The cover isn't that appealing, to be honest. The color palette is too similar.

Might want to continue reading because of blacksmithing.
