When I started this I was pretty pumped. I had read the First Look on Bookish First so I already knew the premise and had enjoyed the writing style. Unfortunately, the book was formulaic and a tad too long. I wasn't looking for something funny, something edgy and although this had moments, it just didn't deliver. If you’ve seen The Wolf of Wall Street you probably have a pretty good idea of what’s going to happen. Spoilers/book recap ahead: Guy unwittingly ends up in a cult-like sales society, after a lot of trouble fitting in and issues related to race, he finally becomes successful. Success makes the guy a complete jackass and abandons everyone he knew before he became successful. Drama ensues and the guy finally tries to repent but it’s too late. More drama with the business. Some reconciliation leads to an almost happy ending. See? And all in less than 381 pages.
