I don't read much satire, so I don't have anything to compare this to besides satirical movies (this reminded me of Sorry to Bother You), but I liked this one! The book opens with Darren living with his mom in Brooklyn and working at a Starbucks in Manhattan. Darren's great at his job, and he convinces one of his regular customers to order something completely outside of his comfort zone. The customer decides Darren is a born sales person, and convinces him to take a job at his company. It's honestly never clear what the company does, but they have a pretty intense training regimen, and during that training, Darren becomes Buck. Buck becomes quite successful, but also, soon abandons his old friends and his old life.

The book is an exploration of how Black people are treated in the corporate world. I found it really interesting, and I enjoyed the book!
