This was an eye-opening read, for sure. The author does such an excellent job at communicating the hardships of Black men and women in a work place setting, and manages to do so in a tongue in cheek manner that makes the journey engaging and intriguing. The cover is what initially drew me in, but I stayed for the powerful writing and lesson to be learned. I managed to alternate between the print copy and the audiobook, and I will say the narration was excellent as well; highly recommended! I think this is the type of book that will be discussed in book clubs and other types of reading books for years to come, and I hope more people pick up this book in the process of informing and educating themselves. I'm very grateful for the opportunity to experience such an eye-opening story, and I can't wait to read more people's thoughts on this one as well.
