Summary: As German bombs fall over London in 1940, working-class parents Millie and Reginald Thompson make an impossible choice: they decide to send their eleven-year-old daughter, Beatrix, to America. This was such a wonderful coming of age historical fiction that follows the life of Bea and those in her inner circle. I loved each character, they were all so unique and wonderful. This was a magical book that will make you want to travel to Maine like tomorrow 😍I loved the parallels between each Character, like Mille and Mrs G. This was just lovely to read, I finished this one in two days.
