Behind Every Lie is a book about a woman, Eva Hansen, who gets struck by lightning. She has flashbacks and she thinks that she did something bad that she can't remember. She finds out her mother was murdered and she is starting to think that she had something to do with it.

The story is told in two point of views. Eva, present day, and Kat, Eva's mother, in the past.

This book had me captivated from the first page, but somewhere in the middle of the book I started to lose interest. The use of so many adjectives and similes was annoying to me, as was the use of exclamation points. Also, a lot of what happened was preposterous. I skimmed through the last 3/4 of the book and was glad when it was over.
