2.5/5: I truly enjoy thrillers and this story was a roller-coaster of events and characters. The idea itself was great, however my primary concern as a reader was that everything that happened to the characters was too “convenient” and that there were just too many coincidences- even if they were presented as being terrible for a character. At times it felt like the author was trying to add too many twists to make the story interesting- which in turn did the exact opposite and took me out of the story completely. The dialogue and plot at times felt rushed and more than once I stopped to think, “no one would ever act like that in this situation”.

I did truly enjoy the plot device of having an unreliable narrator and the alternating POVs. I think the characters were for the most part well done, making them somewhat relatable and making the family dynamics interesting.

The idea was great, the story just needed a bit more development and to calm down at times to really hit it home for me!
