I read the snippet of the book provided and feel meh about it. The story flows choppy/all over the place and did not captivate me. I will admit, I am slightly curious about what happened to Eva's mother. I just did not get that initiative "I need to find out what happened!!" overwhelming feeling. It really lacked on suspense in my opinion. But mark my words, I believe Eva's husband had something to do with it. He just seems like a shady character to me.
