Eva Hansen has a tense relationship with her mother, and the secrets of their shared past. But certainly not tense enough to kill her, Eva's almost positive. Her mother has been murdered, and Eva was struck by lightning, covered in blood, just a few houses away. She can't remember what happened, but keeps getting flashes of moments surrounding the murder. The suspect who can't remember where they were or what happened to them is a tried-and-true plot device for crime novels, as is a buried family secret, but I look forward to reading this iteration!
