I could not put down this psychological thriller. I adored the international setting and how Maddie, Jo, and Ian intertwined. The narrative is mainly from Maddie’s perspective over about 16 years, but there are a couple other perspectives intertwined throughout. It jumps in time a bit which helps build the suspense as it builds the story. You slowly get to know the characters and the relationships between them as their lives intertwined with what happened at that point in history.

I don’t always love thrillers, especially when there is a child involved but this one worked for me. It is hard to write a review without any spoilers at all. I did have several correct guesses about what really happened which was satisfying.
