Ok, I was not ready for that ending. Let alone prepared for those plot twists at the end. My heart!!!! I was so sure I knew/whom was killing all of these people.I am just completely speechless and blown away.
I thought it was bad when Koffi's mom almost died. I was sure that could be the worst of what my heart would have to endure. But that unsuspected death at the end dang near tore me apart!!! Both Koffi and Ekon have lost and endured so much. I adore Koffi's character and teeter on how to deal with Ekon. He was meh at the start, I did not really like him, then he grew on me, then I despised his very being. Now, I'm just flustered and pity him. And OMG!!! ADIAH!!! Our precious songbird! She was so misunderstood and I am a wreck for what she sacrificed for and endured.
I love this debut so much and adore the symbolism of its title. It turned out to be just as magical as I anticipated and I cannot wait for its continuation.
