Two black teenagers go into a magical jungle to hunt down a vicious creature that threatens their livelihood. They must seek a long term solution in order to survive! They rely on the lore and mythology they heard growing up, to hunt and navigate through this forest. The characters went well with the story and I felt they were all given equal importance! I mean they all played a role in finding the magical villainous creature. The ending is a cliffhanger, but didn’t bother me much since I think Ill Be rereading this before the next release.
Although it took me a while to get into the world that Ayana has created, Beasts of Prey delivered what my adventure loving Mowgli heart was seeking. It was a fun read! One great debut, that lives up to the hype. Also that book cover is *heart eyes*
