Koffi, a 16 year old indentured servant to the cruel owner of The Night Zoo, and Ekon, a young man aspiring to become an elite warrior, join forces to try and capture the Shetani. The Shetani is a ferocious beast who has killed many innocent people in the city and Koffi and Ekon must enter the greater jungle to hunt it down.
I’ll admit that this one was a little slow to start. I was a bit confused at first, like I usually am with fantasy, but it started making more sense to me the more I read. It wasn’t really until they entered the jungle, that I started to really enjoy the story.
This is the start of a trilogy, so I’m looking forward to seeing where these characters are going to go.
📚Read this if you love fantasy or if you’re looking to go on an adventure. It’s filled with African folklore which I loved reading about. If you love reading about folklore and mythology, you’ll definitely want to pick this one up.
