I love the cover. Very striking. For a debut novel, it's pretty impressive. However, it really didn't grab me as much as I thought it would. Perhaps it's because I got entangled with pronunciations of names, places, creatures, and terms. And, looking back at the description, I realized that this novel is a series opener -- somewhat of a turnoff for me.
