“Sometimes things that seem dangerous are just misunderstood."
This book has been on my radar since April, so I was delighted to get a chance to read an excerpt of it! I was drawn in by the fantasy aspect, but the cover is stunning as well.
I enjoyed that in the very first chapter we are thrown into the world and straight into a conflict. This beginning feels almost like an unreliable narrator trope, as we are unsure whether her romantic interest or ex-friend is right, but at least one of them clearly has selfish/hidden motives.
I'm very curious to see how the characters end up having their paths intertwine!
