I was gripped right from the cover of Ayana Gray's "Beast of Prey". Though I will freely admit to judging books by their cover when I'm reviewing a book on this site I often don't pay much attention to the covers as I start to read, but the cover imagery grabbed me. Then came the blank spots where eventually the maps will show up. I want to see them! Then I started to read.
The excerpt was not enough. This is one of the few books that is being immediately added to my to be read list because even if I don't win it in a raffle I do not want to forget the title so that I can grab a copy and read it because I am that engaged and intrigued.
