After reading Moxie by this author I was excited to see a female Outsiders comparison for her next book. When I opened up the first look I was not disappointed and it made me even more excited to get my hands on this one. The writing is descriptive and pulls me in. I love the 1960s setting and the I was drawn into the characters and Evie, the youngest of the bad girls included because she was loyal and had the connection to fit. I was drawn into the rich versus poor class battle. I was drawn into the school setting and the drama that will entail.
By the end of the first look I am curious to know what happens next. I am curious about her "women's intuition" as her mom would say about what is going on. I so badly want her to turn and go home but I know she won't and I know that it is the set up for the rest of the book.
My biggest complaint about this first look is that it seems shorter than most and as such I didn't get as much of the story as I wanted!
