Review on the cover :
As a graphic designer, I guess I have to give my honest opinion on the book cover which I find it, really interesting
I would start with the colors or the color palette: red: I think red here is really interesting giving that this book talks about bad girls and the first idea you would get when you hear “bad” is a red flag, a warning from something bad or dangerous which that’s what bad girls do, bad things
Yellow: which in my opinion it’s a sister color to red both are used to get the attention of anyone who would see these colors and of course both have a psychological effect on people so I think this book will get a lot of attention from buyers or it would be interring them to pick it up and know what’s it about
=>the colors are good both scream “danger” “warning” and they’re the coded colors for any mystery-thrill kind of book.
The girl on the cover: Since the main character is a girl who’s telling her story about bad girls, and her being one, I think it’s a good choice, it’s like the book is a biography of this girl Evie
While the photo color is red means that she’s the danger and the title is in yellow which I would assume it’s not just a title of her story may be her motto!
I just love how “say die” is on her glasses (again I think the glasses add a more mysterious aura to her)
The black background: bad girls are always on the spot of light they always get attention because they’re hot, dangerously sexy but again they’re always surrounded by danger and shadows like the chaos that bring so many things
Ps: my mom walked on me while I was writing this review and she got scared for a second so I think the cover did its job
Review on the book (first look):
the first thing I notice while reading was that maybe this book sort of the 60s or 50s vibes when I read “moles”.
This was beautifully written, easy to read, as someone who doesn’t speak English as a first language I would have struggled to go through the book if it wasn’t easy to read so that’s a good thing
As for the story, a girl in a bad-ass squad, bad girl squad sounds really interesting it definitely has eerie vibes to it as I noticed on Goodreads this book is mystery-thrill.
But I was left with a few questions or theories, 1st why was johnny sad? does it have anything to do with her or that's part of the mystery
2nd When Evie felt danger would something creepy happen to her or would Diane would save her and that’s where things change.
Diane, what's her story, was that brunette girl her ex-lover, or was it a bad girl who changed her life as well as she would change Evie's?
I really wanna read the rest of the story.
