The gender-bender version of The Outsiders was interesting and relevant in today's time. Like its predecessor, the story unfolds its rebellious, dark theme in the first two chapters but the characters were poorly described. As for my first impression, I would give this book a second chance by reading the next few chapters as I am interested to see how the author pulled the female twist and modern issues women face while remaining true to the crucial message of S.E. Hinton's work.
