I have never read The Outsiders, but the bold cover and description of Bad Girls Never Say Die captured my attention immediately. I love gender-flipped retellings of classic tales. It is wonderful way to center and celebrate the voices of the historically marginalized, such as these "bad girls" of the 1960s. The first two chapters drew me into Evie's world and left me wanting to know more, particularly what triggered her sense of impending peril. Never doubt a woman's intuition!
