This book isn't something that I would usually pick up but it ended up being really interesting. I really enjoyed the plot and the characters as everything was really well developed. I thought the main conflict was also really interesting (I'm keeping this review as spoiler-free as possible)! I can understand why Pringle was a winner of the Pulitzer prize based on the strong writing style in this book.

Having this book be from the POV of a journalist was interesting to me because normally we only see the POV of a detective on the case. This instead offered a much more in-depth look into journalism and how they are looking at cases. There is much to applaud the author for as they didn't get deterred when those in power and those with money decided that they were tired of him looking into this case.

Overall I think this was an interesting read that was a nice break from my normal genre of books.
