Mind Blowing
'Bad City, Peril and Power in the City of Angels', author, Paul Pringle, investigative journalism holds nothing back; real names, places and dates and more . Angels - LA is not. So much information that at times I had to read the paragraphs twice just to absorb it all. Lots of good/honorable and immoral/harmful characters to keep track of, but stay with it.
What is real nice about the book is that it reads like a story not a boring report or a dry newspaper article. (Though, the Times article must have been great. I did not read the original newspaper articles about the corruption). And I mean corruption to the max, over several 'agencies'. This story proves ultimate power leads to ultimate corruption.
I hadn't read a non-fiction book in a long time; this was an excellent jump start back into reading more. Like the old saying goes, "you can't make this stuff up". Mind blowing.
