Everything about the first look of this new novel grabbed me in a way that few books have done recently. The setting, the timeline, the people involved as well as the author's writing style had me hooked at hello. I am fully aware of large institutions and their "code of silence", and LA can be one of the seamiest of cities, which makes this a must read.
