This is a part of my quest to go back through and hit all the old books in an effort to garner more points to use on free books. In so doing, I download a bunch of the excerpts, slap them on the nook, and then later, offline, read through them and make notes, only to come back here to write those up at a later point.
The hook was solid and immediate. The hook led immediately to action, allowing the storyline to advance. The prologue was engaging and fascinating, capturing the attention of the reader with ease. Even after the prologue, the action moves forward at a solid pace, leaving the reader dying to know what happens next. This is definitely one that I will be purchasing to find out what happens next, however, I will need to read it in full before I give it more than four stars, as some that have sounded excellent in the excerpts through Bookish First have become let downs in the past.
