This book started off promising, and quickly went downhill. It basically turned into a girl fending off unwanted attention from most of the dudes she is hiking with, dumb teen drama, and then eventually, wayyyy later on, many bad decisions leads to the group of teens in a perilous situation. The characters were annoying and lacked depth, and the story not all that thrilling. It is YA, so maybe I would have enjoyed this more reading it as a teen (although I enjoy other YA books just fine so maybe not).
Nothing was shocking, and I was really waiting for a twist at the end, or some big conspiracy or plot to be unveiled... but no. Perhaps if it was labeled as more of a YA survival type story it would have not built up expectations that it then couldn't deliver on. Overall it was predictable and mediocre. Not one I would recommend my bookish friends to pick up.
