This was more YA than I expected, but I enjoyed the story of these 3 friends and the life changing adventure they shared. It shows the invincibility thinking of teens and how reality doesn't always happen the way it was expected.

I liked that it was pretty realistic as to what to expect when it comes to weather and how harsh the weather can be, yet it was just as much a get to know you story that was wholesome and touching.

Many times I wanted to stop them all from their actions, as simple as don't take the ax as you know it is going to be an issue in the story and don't wear sneakers on a rugged hike all the way to watch the sky carefully and don't turn your back on it.

The ending tied it all together nicely, leaving no loose ends. A good read and thanks to Bookishfirst for the advance copy.
