I'm not a big fan of survival stories. I would rather read about other topics, but when I do, a book like this is just what I'm looking for.

Wallenfels wrote a weird, suspenseful thriller that kept you on the edge of your seat. The build-up of suspense in this book was incredible. Between the five people, you could literally feel the testosterone.

So far, this is a fantastic start to a thrilling tale! I'm still trying to find out which of the characters is likable and which is a complete jerk. Someone dies, as we already know from the tease, but we don't know who. We're not sure why Colin's hands smell like fish. We don't know anything about him except that he's the underdog in this story, so I'm rooting for him.

I'm also interested to see if Ceo and Grahame turn out to be the scumbags they seem to be. And then there's the AX! Who buys an ax in order to go on a long hike?! I'm hoping my boy Colin isn't the one who gets hacked into (possibly) two major pieces because this blip finishes on such a suspenseful note.
