A psychological thriller that ramps up the chill quotient right from the front cover. That axe and the red haze above it foreshadow disastrous events on what should have been a fun camping trip for four college buddies. The prologue drops the reader into a terrifying scene which depicts the campers, woefully unprepared for an extreme change in the weather, struggling to survive. When two of the campers return to the camp after searching for firewood, they find something horrible has happened in their absence. The following chapters, told from multiple points of view, introduce the characters, why they went camping, what happens on the trip, how the campers respond, and why someone brought an axe on the trip.
