15 pages in and I'm already shivery, and not the good kind of shivery either. This reminds me of Ruth Ware's debut novel, In a Dark, Dark Wood (one of my all-time favourites), only I suspect Bad Call will be much, much, much gorier. I love the way the author started with foreshadowing and the first few pages seem to be pretty close to heart of the story. I get the feeling that this will be a read-in-one-sitting kind of book and the terror that undoubtedly awaits for the unsuspecting reader will be lost if we take breaks or put the book down for too long. I am always looking for books that read in a way that is like I'm watching the movie play out in my head. Some books are just books and some are so much more. And this one is so much more.
