Funny, interesting character
Auntie Poldi, just turned 60, leaves Munich to move to a village in Sicily and plans to drink herself to death and live by the sea. She is surrounded by a bunch of relatives who want to look after her and her nephew who visits on a regular basis. In fact, the nephew seems to be narrating the story with comments by Aunt poldi.
She has a young man named Valentino who works odd jobs at her house and she finds him dead on the beach. Soon she is swept up in the murder investigation and flirting with the local policeman - Commissario Montana.
The descriptions of Sicily are beautiful and I loved the descriptions of the coffee she and the Commissario Montana share with cookies. The food descriptions are fun and the book is a quick read.
