I thought this was meant to be a fun murder mystery, but this book was so bogged down in other things that it was just too hard for me to get through. I was expecting a much quicker pace with a story like this, but there was so much description of every person down to minute details that it slowed down the pace for me and I was honestly quite bored.
The narrator/perspective was confusing as it's told from the perspective of Poldi's nephew who's recounting the story as told to him by Poldi. But this is then interrupted by what seems like a present day conversation with Poldi and others which makes the timing confusing for me.
I think Poldi is meant to be a fun no-nonsense older person, but her obsession with death was morbid and kind of weird?
Some of the writing was a bit awkward, but that is likely due to translation and not the authors fault.
Overall I ended up DNFing this book at page 80, just because I was so bored and I didn't want to wait even longer for it to get better.
