I thought Auntie Poldi and the Sicilian Lions sounded like a great start to a cute, unique new sleuth series. And I got just that! It was quirky just like the main character Aunt Poldi. I loved that she was middle-aged as opposed to the much younger usual heroines of this genre. What was a bit off-putting though was the story being told from someone else's(her nephew's) perspective/recollection. I do understand the reasoning for that but I do think it would have been better in translation being told from third person or even first. Maybe it could have had a prologue from the nephew and then switched to either of those perspectives. Other than that the plot and characters were about average for me. Nothing was really new or original for the story. But it was enjoyable overall. I'm interested to see where the series, and Aunt Poldi, goes from here! I'd recommend to lovers of mysteries!
